​COURTLAND MEYER, M.ED., CED, CCC-SLP  |  CLINICAL DIRECTOR/SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Courtland Meyer received her Master of Education from The University of Virginia in 1983. She has held her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association since 1987. Courtland has her license through the Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology and is also certified by the Council on Education of the Deaf, as a teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing. She is certified as an Early Intervention Professional and is also Hanen certified. Courtland owned a private practice serving children and adults with speech and language disorders in Culpeper, Virginia, for over 10 years. She also provided speech-language therapy to infants and toddlers in Rappahannock, Fauquier, Culpeper, Madison, and Orange counties. Originally from Harrisonburg, Courtland moved back to the beautiful Shenandoah Valley in 2003, with her husband and two children. Courtland served infants and toddlers in Rockingham County and Harrisonburg City for more than seven years before joining the staff of The Speech and Language Center in 2012. Since coming to the Center, Courtland completed the training, “Introduction to PROMPT: Technique”. She also completed the Beckman Oral Motor Protocol training. Courtland seeks to make a positive change in the lives of all the clients that she serves at The Speech and Language Center. She is truly thankful to be a part of the SLC family.

​KRISTIN WENGER, M.S., CCC-SLP  |  SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST, TEAM LEAD
Kristin holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from James Madison University. She is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, holds her Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC), and is certified as an Early Intervention Professional. Following graduation, Kristin moved to be closer to her family in Franklin County, Virginia, where she received her CCC's and practiced for two years in a private practice working in schools, doing outpatient therapy, and working in Early Intervention. She also has experience in a skilled nursing facility. Kristin began working at The Speech and Language Center in May of 2016 and enjoys all that the Shenandoah Valley has to offer. She lives in town with her husband Blake, son Wade, and dog Fabio. In her free time, Kristin enjoys trying out new restaurants, exercising at Orange Theory Fitness, attending church events, being outdoors, and spending time with her niece and nephews.  Kristin's professional interests include children and young adults with autism, AAC, and childhood apraxia of speech.

​AMY REXRODE, M.S., CCC-SLP |  SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Amy Rexrode holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Virginia and Master's Degree from James Madison University in speech-language pathology. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) along with certification as an Early Intervention Professional. She has also received training in the Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol. Amy has experience working in private practice, public school, hospital, and Early Intervention settings. She has grown up in the Shenandoah Valley where she currently resides with her husband. Amy is excited for the opportunity to work with the team of professionals at The Speech and Language Center to support clients and their families in improved communication abilities.

ADRIENNE KROUSKOP, M.A., CCC-SLP  |  SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST, DIRECTOR OF SLPA TRAINING
​Adrienne graduated from The Ohio State University in 2005 with her B.A. in Speech and Hearing Sciences and from the University of Pittsburgh in 2007 with her M.A. in Communication Science disorders. Since then she have moved all around Virginia and North Carolina. She has experience in multiple settings including private practices, schools, and teletherapy. At home she enjoys taking long walks with her Golden Retriever, portrait photography, and watching college football. A few years ago she decided to self publish a children's book, The Baker's Moon, and it can be found on Amazon!

CALEIGH SIMPKINS, M.S., CCC-SLP  |  SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
​Caleigh holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from James Madison University. She is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, holds her Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC), and is certified as an Early Intervention Professional. She is also certified in It Takes Two to Talk- the Hanen Program for Parents of Children with Language Delays. Caleigh lived in Richmond for 3 years following graduation where she worked in Early Intervention, outpatient clinic, and public school settings.  In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cooking, going to the beach, and being with friends and family. She is excited to have returned to the Shenandoah Valley and to be a part of the SLC team.

BRIANNA CASSADA, M.S., CCC-SLP|  SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Brianna holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from James Madison University, and is proud to be a “Double Duke”! She is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is excited to be working with The Speech and Language Center here in Harrisonburg. She has experiences working in the local schools, as well as with inpatient and outpatient hospital settings. Brianna and her husband, Beau, are thrilled to be in the Shenandoah Valley, and together enjoy hiking, skiing, sports, and being active outside. Brianna is excited to join Team SLC to work alongside other wonderful professionals and serve the clients and families of this beautiful area.

​CAROLINE CLYMER, B.A., SLPA  |  SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY ASSISTANT
​​Caroline earned her Bachelor's degree at George Mason University studying opera and theater before moving overseas and becoming a TESOL-certified English teacher.  After living as an English-teaching nanny in Germany and then directing an English school in Cambodia, she returned to her hometown in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and discovered the intersection of her passions in Speech-Language Pathology.  After a summer internship and training, Caroline worked as an SLPA through the Speech and Language Center at Lacey Spring Elementary School.  She is currently completing the requirements to attain ASHA's new SLPA certification through Longwood University and the Speech and Language Center, and plans to subsequently continue her education to become an SLP.  Caroline is overwhelmed with gratitude at the opportunity to be part of such a supportive and inspiring place, working with and serving such talented and enjoyable people.  In her free time, Caroline enjoys playing with her niece, yoga, traveling, hiking, photography, and teaching swing dance locally.

​KATIE PHILPOTT, M.S., CCC-SLP  |  SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Katie received her Bachelor’s degree in English from Liberty University in 2016 and her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from James Madison University in 2020. She completed an internship here at the Speech and Language Center during the Spring of 2020, and is absolutely thrilled to be able to continue her professional career as a speech therapist working alongside such passionate and knowledgeable SLPs. She has experience in acute and inpatient hospital settings as well as schools and pediatric private practice. Katie grew up in the Shenandoah Valley and is excited to be able to call Harrisonburg home. In her free time she enjoys traveling, surfing, horseback riding, skiing, and hiking.
